The Test of English as a Foreign Language™ (TOEFL®) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings.The TOEFL test is offered in different formats depending on a test taker’s location.

The Test Of English as a Foreign Language (or TOEFL, pronounced “toe-full”, or sometimes just “toffle”) evaluates the potential success of an individual to use and understand Standard American English at a college level. It is required for non-native applicants at many American and English-speaking colleges and universities. A TOEFL score is valid for 2 years, and then is deleted from the official database.

July 9, 2009 5:08 PM PDT - Summer in Texas this year is hot, but not as hot as the debate over the iPhone 3GS overheating, an issue circulating the Internet for several weeks now. The debate finally came to a head when some users blamed white iPhone 3GS discoloration on overheating and only worsened when Apple updated the heat advisory for the iPhone 3GS.

After some users interpreted Apple's advisory as an admittance of guilt over the widely reported overheating issue and Apple responded that it was merely updating a technical document to cover the iPhone 3GS, a French site--FrenchiPhone.com--is claiming that certain cases discolor the white iPhone 3GS when exposed to heat.

10th July 2009 18:47 GMT - It's official: Intel is working with Google on the development of the Mountain View ad broker's new netbook operating system, Google Chrome OS.

Word of the world's largest processor manufacturer's involvement with the world's largest internet searcher's purportedly virus-free OS first came by way of a comment by an Asia-Pacific Intel spokesman.And on Friday morning, Intel spokesman Nick Knupffer at the company's Santa Clara, California, headquarters, confirmed that report, telling The Reg that "We’ve been privy to the project for some time and work with Google on a variety of projects, including elements of this one. We welcome Google’s move here."

Apple may enjoy smugly tooting its own horn, but it is particularly puffed-up today while celebrating a year of the iPhone and iPod Touch App Store.

"Light a candle and cue the music," Apple says on a special iTunes page for the occasion. "Okay, forgive us for sounding like doting parents, but we're just so proud -- having watched the App Store grow from promising newcomer to full-fledged revolutionary."
